Upate on Warrior!

Warrior is doing great everyone! His knee is now at about a 170 degree to a 175 degree bend. I watch him from the house window and it looks as if he is at a full 180 degree but when I am headed out to him or around him he "seems" to have it still bent a little or he goes to limping on it just a bit. I think that is more plying for sympathy than anything. Eye color is a good pink and has darkened to a deep pink-I would say like the "optimal color" on the eye color chart. I do not feel so worried now about him.

But we do have the rain and wetness to worry about. The electric company has been through cutting trees down and they were nice enough to dump 7 huge loads of chipped branches and etc. in my yard that I want to use as bedding. Maybe I can provide the herd with something more than the wet pasture and wet barn yard and wet everything!

Thanks again everyone for all of your help, knowledge, assistance and support. I don't think I could have done what was done to help Warrior without you. Goat kisses to all!

So glad Warrior is doing so much better & almost his usualy goatie self! Hope your doing well too & thanks for letting us all know how your boy is doing.

Great on the wood chips. Those will be great toput in the paths that are heavily walked on, etc. to keep the feet dryer.

What about pallets? Do you have any or can you get some? If you know anyone that does roofing they get lots of them from all the shingles, maybe they can drop them off to you for free?

They still only cost $1.00 around here if we buy them. They are great for putting down in wet or muddy areas. It can give the goats a place to lay & let the feet stay dry. Heck you could line the barn, walkways or what ever you wanted with the pallets.

Great idea on the pallets. Just had a guy give me about 7 of them. Also the wood chips are humongous tall and wide piles. But it snowed today so will try and spread chips another day here real soon.

I pop in every now and then but not for long. I do not reply to many posts as I really feel the lack of knowledge. SO many of you know right away what is going on and have the answers and treatment so fast. I just let you experts take care of that and once in a while I might add a little but not much. I get though much enjoyment in reading your posts, problems, solutions and comments and sometimes your jokes or funny situations. And I too love to see the pics of everyone's goats-good or bad.

I will take a pic of him as soon as I can and post. I imagine he will like to pose for it and show you ladies his finest side. I had decided to put the Alpine girls with him to maybe stimulate his attitude and walking around more and I think that has helped him get to this final point with the knee. While he has not shown much interest in the girls as far as breeding he has shown just a better overall interest than in being just with the other bucks. So will keep them together as is and I still work with him with exercising the leg.
