I believe they are a Myotonic and the Nigerian Dwarf Goat cross.

They are a long, silky coated version of the Myotonic (fainting) goat. The fiber isn't like angora goats fiber and isn't used for spinning. There is a registry for them, but don't much else than that. I have friends who have them.

Miniature silky fainting goats are essentially tiny fainters. I had also heard they were a longhaired mytonic crossed to nigerian... essentially the weirdest cross ever that renders them nothing but novelty animals IMO. Had they crossed to pygmy they would have at least crossed meat to meat.

Either way, the pricetag on most of those critters is usually absolutely REDICULOUS. I'm not paying 800.00 (what I saw locally).

I've always liked myotonics - VERY meaty critters. The fact that nobody seems to test kinda turns me off to them.

There is a breeder of Myotonics in Oregon that tests. I'm getting a buck from her, he is already reserved, as he was born Christmas Day. Here is her website: http://www.ahartacres.com/
