Need herd name...

Going to join the ADGA and get my boys registered. I have an interested party for purchase but they have to be registered.

Got several names in consideration...so please help by weighing in on your thoughts...

Capering Caprines

Locust Glade Farm

Almost Haven Farm ( spelling is correct)

2bee-or-not Farm

I did a quick search on these and came up empty so i think they are available.

thanks all....bee

if you are really going to use the name a lot, remember that every time you give it out you're going to have to explain it and spell it, and then spell it again. Make sure it is something that isn't going to drive you nuts after the 1000th explanation.

A suggestion. Leave off the Farm. Locust Glade and Almost Haven would make great Herd names. You also free up valuable letters needed to name your goats. Sound out the name of a couple of goats. "Locust Grade Annabelle" sounds a heck of a lot better then "Locust Grade Farm Annabelle" and also frees up the limited letters you are allowed. You can still call yourself "Locust Grade Farm". BTW good names. Mine is "Biscuit Creek"

I like Almost Haven. There is a BeeHaven farm but I don't know if they have a herd name registered as that.

I appreciate your opinions..can leave the farm off the herd name, but still use it generally?? Hmmm..I am trying to build a small market garden at the same time. Going to need a name for that so double duty....

How about Locust Grove Farm instead of Glade? Locust Grove Acres? I made sure to use a name that didn't really specify goats because we have other interests and wanted the name to fit everything.

Mammabooh...I grew up in Locust Grove and thought to use it..Googled it and there are too many already in use which is why I went with "Glade"..and that name is so....peaceful. I do have a Locust Glade here on my place. Smells like heaven when they bloom!

I like Almost Haven. Dont feel bad it took us for ever to pick something. We could not agree on anything. We finally picked It Happens.

Hmmm...there's nothing really wrong with that name, but I just don't like the sound of the long a in glade with the o in locust...it seems abrupt or something (be warned I'm a bit of a weird-o!). How about Locustwood Acres? Locust Blossom Farm?

Yup, I like mizbeehaven.

Locust grove is the name of the slaughterhouse that we use for our beef... so I vote not that one. But that's just me.

I know its a tree and all but I hear Locust and I think grasshopping annihilators that ruin everything, Biblical plagues, swarms of doom, etc. I'm a little bit literal though.
