Looky what I got!

I'm so happy! Farmgirl6 sold me her goat trailer! I met her today outside of Knoxville; she was so kind to drive 3.5 hours to meet me at the crack of dawn at the IHOP and make the switch! Since it was the first time I'd driven with a trailer she got me all squared away, the trailer attached...the paperwork ready to go-I was set to run home and move the girls to our new place!

Here it is on the back of my minivan. Of course, I really do need a truck.

I'm so excited, I'm not sure if I want to stain it or paint it hot pink!

And the goats fit in there perfectly. They weren't too happy to make the move but they were together and safe! The trailer rides so smooth-I just need to learn to back it up. I spent far too much time trying to back it up the driveway so I gave up and left it on the side of the road til my other half could do it. I stopped at a gas station on the way home and jack knifed it backing up but there was a super nice guy there to straighten me out. I'll get the hang of it somehow!

Just thought I would share. The goat trailer went to a great home that will get lots of use out of it for many years! I've met some of the *nicest* most generous and thoughtful people here! We're a lucky group!

Oh how cool. I need one of those and I HAVE a truck! I will say that backing up those short trailers can be harder than back up a longer horse or stock trailer!

Congrats - Angela

It will be nice to know that your goats will be safe and secure as they travel. Great score!

Keep practicing your backing up. It gets easier.

Hey! You were close to me. If you came down 40, you came real close

I vote for hot pink. Would definitely keep a guy from borrowing it.

One trick to backing a trailer is go SLOW and make SMALL steering adjustments

What a great little trailer & perfect for hauling all your little goats around!

I am terrible at backing up with a trailer attached too, I usually just wait for dh to do it or make sure I pull in somewhere that I can turn around going straight through(if that makes any sense?).

Nice trailer for goatties. I'd like to have one about that size.

Bearfootfarm is right, " One trick to backing a trailer is go SLOW and make SMALL steering adjustments ".

Another helpful hint is to grab the bottom of the steering wheel. That way when you start to backup, your hand moves the way you want the trailer to go.

I am so glad you bought it and it will be well used, I vote for pink as well!! well worth bringing it to you to know it will be used for what I built it for and solve transport problems I had as well not having a really big farm vehicle - it was a real pleasure meeting you, wish we were closer neighbors! Glad the gals all moved well.
