Unhappy We lost our other doeling

So now we have our 4 does and 2 bucklings...

She had gotten all better as far as we could tell too. I think she got too cold due to the bigger does not being nice to her/snuggling and the barn being to drafty? Only explanation I can come up with. She seemed perfect the night before

I'm not sure we should breed our does. I seem to be great at killing off babies

I'm sorry for your loss, but doubt the above statement applies.

I'm so sorry Prairiemama. Consider yourself hugged. Sometimes we lose them and just don't understand why. That happens to ALL of us goat breeders.

We lost a first freshener out of the blue this last spring. Vet couldn't even tell us why. Then had to battle both melanoma and squamous cell cancer on one doe, which included multiple freezings and two surgeries. And we had two C-sections with lost kids on both after having only one C-section in all our years of raising dairy goats (live kid out of that one years ago).

I was about ready to throw in the towel and sell the entire herd earlier in the year. But they're all doing well now and I'm glad I hung in there. You hang in there too OK?! Jules

Ugh....
I feel for you...we lost our entire doeling lot this Spring to pneumonia....
You can best bet that I'm going to spend the couple of dollars it takes to vaccinate any that are born in the Spring this coming year.

I am so sorry! I am sure you didn't kill off any of your babies! We all do as much as we can for our animals including Jyllie63, Suzy or julieq. Sending you all hugs! This next year will be better.
