New goat breed we need help pricing (pic)

As I said in Wingdo post mom and me are making goat rockers and we were wondering... If you had extra money to spend how much would you be willing to pay for this? We are fixing to list a bunch for sale but don't know where to start them.

this is just awfully cute. can not help with the pricing, maybe $150? probably does not really cover the time you spend on it.

Okay 30 inch long and the seat is 11 inches off the floor... hope that helps. The ages for kids are 2 to 8 years old or you can use it like us for decoration. We have no kids close so actual kid tested no.. but when we take it to the craft fair and auction I am sure it will be then lol.

The horns are not sharp they are filed down. We are also going to make them without horns and the paint them to fit the different breeds.

We can turn them out start to finish in two days. Shorter if we have a lot of Monster energy drinks and no goats cause trouble lol

I love that... Its soo cute and it looks like really great craftsmanship. Call me a cheapskate though $150.00 is way too much for my budget, I might pay up to $90.00 if I worked some overtime to pay for it. Im not suggesting its not worth it, just saying I couldn't justify the expense to pay more. It do think indulgent grandparents would be a great market for these if you were to price higher though, I could see my dad buying that for the kids priced at $150.00

Like anything else its only worth what some one will pay for it, so start it about 150 as I also see that being fair, but let me know if they go cheaper as I couldnt afford that, 5 kids, 8 goats, 1 hubby, 13? chickens, 1 pig, 5 dogs and 9 cats... almost forgot the guineas 2 of those..Next week possibly a pony.

Terribly cut though, I might pony up the dough.

I love it!

I would definitely say no horns if I were going to use it as a rocking goat though. Also, you need to be really careful selling "toys". There are a lot of laws about safety testing.

We have a wonderful handmade rocking horse we bought for the kids about 15 years ago - it was $125. It was also sold "for decorative purposes only, not to be used as a toy" but we were told that if we wanted to put a potted plant on the seat it would hold up to 150 lbs. - lol!

This is what worried me too. I would sell it for decoration 'only'. What people do with it after they buy it is their own business. Perhaps put a little stamp somewhere on it that says that to avoid any suits? In an out of the way place, like underneath or inside a rocker piece or somethin'.

Not sure what a good price would be. Depends on the market in your area. It sounds like it would be for small children only since it's 11 inches high.

I don't have any kids but I would LOVE to have a pair without the rocking part just to put ourside in my flower bed!! Might want to think about making some of those & we could all buy them if shipping isn't a whole lot.

Cannon I am sure we can work out something for another fourm goat lovers.

Never thought of the rules of children toys. Thank you for that. I think "this is not a toy" stamp is coming our way soon. Like you said what they do with it later is their business. I can't wait to make a LaMancha with our farm name on the rocker feet.

I bet you could sell dozens at the goat shows
I would want a Nubian, let me know what you decide on the pricing may just have to put half in paypal one week and then the next. I do wish you where closer I had a friend who closed his wood shop and have a ton of wood perfect size.

its probably not worth the trip but if I visit Creamers this year to get a doeling i hope she has maybe we can meet.
Color hummmm thats a good one Ill have to think on that... the first time the variety of colors a nubian can come in where thought of as a bad thing.

You absolutely CANNOT take off the horns. It looks almost like the old billy goat in Hoodwinked! If the horn tips are a worry, just exaggerate them and extend the horns to where the tips either touch, or actually connect to the ears. Simply define the difference with paint. Then they will be not dangerous and probably used as handles by that rascally 150# potted plant.

I wouldn't mind a LaMancha, without the horns, handles, and rockers for decoration. Maybe with happier expression, that one looks like it's about to butt someone.LOL

I guess that is rather picky of me, but 150 is way out of my price range right now for decorative items, so I probably won't be able to get one anyway. They are freaking cute though.

So you would want just a wooden LaMancha? Let me do a test run and see if we can handle that. And like I said anyone on here we can make a deal and it wont be any where near 150.00 for those fourm members.

Yes, just a wooden LaMancha. That would be awesome! I think that is what Backforty is wanting too.

If it needs to be on a base, maybe just a plain square base, no rockers.

I will see what we can do and I will either post it here or send you a pm when we figure it out.

Since the seat is only 11" off the ground it would probably be best for 18month - 4 years. And then only if the 4 yr old was on the small side.

It is very cute - and reminds me of the goat in Hoodwinked. Hopefully the close resemblance won't cause the producers of the movie to go after you.
