This is Littlun, she is actually older then Middlun by 10 days, hopefully we can get her to fill out.She is only 33 pounds according to the chart in our book(measuring her chest)

Yes it was a bit of a rushed job getting them but they arrived late Wed. night.

All seem fine, the smallest just needs to put on weight.

I can tell you Anna is heavy, could only carry her about two thirds of the way to the paddock and then had to put her down...not as young as I used to be.LOL

All are dirty, red mud on them from the recent rains and Littlun needs a wash especially.

As far as the breed goes, hard to tell on the young ones, but Anna seems alright.

Well Happy Birthday to you Mrs Oz! and welcome to the wonderful wacky world of goats. So happens we got a BoerX for my birthday a few months back. She's sweeter than all the others combined - (or she is just ever hopeful for treats, not sure), but she has a sweet disposition. I hope yours are loveable as well.

Mr Oz, looks like you have a nice set up for them. We too use cattle panels and t-posts. Even our big gal climbs all over it, but it has held them with no problems thus far. So - If I may, what are your plans from here? Companions? Meat makers? Grass mowers? All the above?

Best of luck with them. Thanks for sharing.

Oz they look healthy but I have a question...your largest girl...do pure boers have "flea bittin" Nubian coloration ears?

Those two younger ones look so huggable! Good luck and have fun!

I believe Anna(the big one) is purebred, actually all of them are supposed to be....

Of course that doesn't make it so...

Right now, their purpose is to eat the brush and clear the land.

Next year,it might be time for some babies...

From what I have been told that and spots come from cross breeding a Nubian and Boer. Not saying Oz that yours aren't purebred or that even what I have been told is the truth.

LOL...she could be for all we know,we just went on what the seller told us.

Although,if she is part Nubian, that would be good for making babies...

Thank you for the birthday wishes. I am excited about this new adventure and the first livestock at our little homestead. They are sweet girls. The smallest one (I've really got to get them named) is slightly stand offish, but already warming up. The other 2 are just babies.

Do not give her a lot of grain to put weight on her. Any feed changes should be made slowly. If they were feeding them a lot of grain cut it back and replace some with hay or pellets. Fat goats are not good breeders.

Goats melt in water. If you want to end up soaked and with hoof prints along your body and face go ahead and try to give her a good wash They do like brushing and clean pretty easy.

Glad you got three, congrats to the Misses.... let the addiction begin, maybe on Valentine's she will want more goats.....then Easter and so on, lol.

Our girls have names! If you look at the first picture Oz posted...the middle girl is Anna. She came to us with that name. The girl on the left is Sunny and the smallest girl on the right is Penny.

Very very nice little girls.

Anna is definitely part Nubian - those frosted ears are a dead giveaway. Judging by the horn development, I would say that Penny is much younger than the other two.

They look well-fed and healthy.

According to the info we were given,Penny is actually 10 days older than Sunny.
Sure doesn't look it.

As to Anna being part Nubian, well she wasn't supposed to be but if she is,so much the better.
