First breeding of the year!

Finally witnessed the first heat out of my does today. Two were actually in heat, but I only want the boers and alpines bred for spring, so poor Boston (a mini) has to wait. She was REALLY impressed with my alpine buck, but NO WAY is she going on a 'date' with him! LOL.

I bred Lolita, a 75% boer doe (registered at 50%) to Waylon, my fullblood boer buckling. I saw one sucessfull breeding but I also put them in their own honeymoon pen overnight.

Hopefully now the rest of the prudish does will get the right idea and start going into heat.

Yep, yep! Lots of honeymooning going on here, too. So far, no breakouts, and *I* determine the matches; not the goats - ha ha ha! Good luck with your breeding plans and the upcoming kidding season.

Three of my girls were bred this weekend! WOOHOO! This is a bit early for me, in the past I've bred for March kids.

I hope Feb babies won't be to terrible... think I'll wait and breed the rest for a March freshening.

I've got three probably and two maybe but doubtful. the remaining two have to wait so I have winter milk, and one of them was soooo pathetic yesterday. the poor buck lost his voice calling back to her too.
