Good Dairy Goat show experience.

The other day I had a chance to take my son to the Oklahoma State Fair Dairy goat show and had an awesome experience. We didn't show. We just went there to watch and learn. It seemed that everyone we talked to was very interested in helping us and giving great information. (so much totally different than what I remembered from back when my daughter and I were learning about showing dairy cattle.)

These people were extremely friendly and one young lady who placed at Nationals in showmanship last year handed her prize winning goat to my son and gave him a tip or two about handling a dairy goat.

It was a great day.

From what I've understand they are very nice people. The breeder I got my LaMancha was there this weekend so I know if you talked to her you where in good hands. She is one of the nicest people I've met in a long time.

Donna, was it by any chance "checkerboardcreek farms"? I visited with them and I know they had alpines and pretty sure they had lamanchas. I've got two lamanchas and like their personality I just can't get past the no ears thing! lol......

Glad you had such a good experience. We just finished showing at the Spokane Interstate Fair (ADGA judge). Long days and over 400 animals shown - highly competitive - but folks helped show extra animals for each other, joking around, etc. It makes it much more fun when there is a positive spirit in the barn!

No my breeder is just because farms. All they have is lamanchas. I personally love LaManchas. They are so social and loving and will always have at least one in by herd.
