Cool Funny Story!

Okay, so just before lunch I get a strange call from my daughter's school, kinda went like this;

"Hi Cady's (DD) mom, we found a baby goat on the school grounds this morning, we've had Cady check it over, she says it looks healthy... do you want it?"

I get my DD on the phone and she tells me it's a doe, looks to be a Saanen, young doesn't look loaded with worms but has no tattoos. I felt bad for the little thing since they had her locked in a small classroom trying to figure out what to do, so I sent my DH down to the school to pick her up.

DH put the little one in an isolation pin with some hay and water. I'll check her over and then post some "FOUND" ads on local classifieds when I get home from work this evening.

WOW... even the school knows I'm the crazy goat lady!

So I guess someone just dropped her off at school, hoping for her to be adopted? That's so sad.

It was probably in someone's yard and one of the children coaxed it to follow them to school.
I'm the crazy goat lady in my town too. I'm just glad it has "goat" in the moniker and not just "the crazy lady". I would look at it as a positive.

TRUE... I'm sure I've been called worse a time or two

Well, she's a cute little thing, seems to have been well fed but her hooves were terrible over-grown. She's all white, looks to be a Heinz-57 to me... maybe a mini-boer combo, not really sure.

I've posted ads on the local classifieds and our area craigslist so I hope to hear from her owners soon.

LOL, I bet your daughter is strutting her stuff. How cool is it to be the "expert" that the school officials call on in this kind of emergency? :P

Bet she's popular

I had the city call me after they had found a new born lamb downtown in front of the capital. They said that everyone they called gave them my name!

He was a painted desert sheep, from the looks, and must have been born with the ewe in transit. He spent 5 days with me in my living room(with a diaper on) and then went to his new home. He was just a hoot.

How old is the doeling? She can be the School Marm!

I don't think there's anything wrong with you being the Crazy goat lady! They call me the goat lady around here, I've never heard them add the crazy part but they might not want me to hear that part.

I think it's good your daughter was there to make sure she was OK & that they called you. Hopefully the owners will see your ad's & want her back. I hope someone didn't just drop her off!
