Which one might be in heat?

The doe doing the mounting or the one being mounted? I'm so confused.

I'm not 100% positive it's the same with goats but with cows the one in heat is the one 'standing'. In other words, if the goat being mounted stands still to be mounted, she's probably in heat. If she's trying to get away, she's probably not in heat.

Like I said though, I'm not sure it's the same with goats but it works every time with my cows.

She has a sense of humor? Power trip? Bi-curious?

Yes, I guess I should've added that if the one being mounted isn't standing still then the one doing the mounting might be in heat!

Generally mounting is a dominance thing. My Latte wants to be the herd queen and mounts the buckling AND her half sister. One of my does cries a lot when she's in heat, the others are future FF, so I am trying to figure them out.

I haven't had a hard time this year figuring it out. Two of my adult does are in heat right now. I can tell because they are walking the fence line, flagging their tails and just crying for my buck. I don't breed this time of year so they are going to be frustrated girls for another month or two. Luckily, my buck has a pasture between him and the girls. I told them this morning that at least they could play hard to get! LOL

It could be either, both, or neither. This time of year hormones are changing, so the does will be a little more aggressive toward each other, and will act hormonal in general.
