Goats and green grass

Good Morning to all--Having been lurking forever and now need some advice.
Moving from NM(not a blade of green) to OK (green everywhere!). Can I just turn my goat into a pasture or should I limit the green grass for a bit. They have been on alfalfa pellets and bermuda grass forever.
Thank you for all the good advice on feeding, kidding, copper, etc. thru the years.

They will likely bloat and get runny poo with a sudden extreme change like that. I'd start with NO MORE than 20 minutes the first couple of days on the green. Keep up with the alfalfa pellets and hay to keep their guts calm. Gradually increase pasture time over a couple of weeks.

I agree with Alice, I let my goats out to a meadow of fresh grass and they had full on access to it, and they got runny poops that seemed to last forever. So I took the advice offered and started limiting them and working them up to it, they are now out there full time and have no problems. So slow and steady works pretty well

I had to laugh when I read you are moving to OK where there is grass but I guess compared to NM we have grass lol.

Depending on how large their area is and whether it has it had other livestock on it previously, you could also mow it short and let them acclimate as the grass grows back but I'd still start out as Alice suggested.
