A little confused on Transfer of papers

I have to transfer cherry's papers and I don't know really what to put in the I'D number. Is that her register number? Also for Membership Name do I just put mine? I don't have a membership yet can't see paying the money just to turn around in September and pay another 25 to renew.

Also I don't have a herd name registered yet. Do I have to do that first before getting her papers transfer ? I've looked all morning trying to answer my own questions with no luck.

I'm pretty sure that you have to be a member and have a herd name before you can transfer. Someone more knowledgeable will come along and tell you for sure. Is there some reason that you have to do it now, as opposed to after September?

Well... I am only worried that I wont have her papers back by the end of september when she is put in the Tulsa fair.

If this is ADGA you are talking about. I don't think you have to be a member or have to have a herd name to transfer her. You just have to pay the nonmember transfer fee when you send her papers in to be transferred.

Yes this is ADGA we are talking about. That's what I was thinking too... I am new to all of this. Can tell you how to transfer a dog with AKC but this totally lost lol. So on the schedule of rates that you are suppose to send with her papers the membership name do i just leave that blank? And also since her breeder is a member and I am not it cost me nothing... correct?

I would say you have to pay the $4.00 transfer fee, but if I was you I would just call ADGA and ask.

Just put your name where it says Membership name. Don't fill anything in the ID# space. You do pay $4. for the transfer since the seller is an ADGA member. Come September, send in the application for membership. I don't know of any family memberships offered but I think you can include another family member at no additional cost. It sure isn't very clear on the website.
You will need a herd name and your own tattoo letters to register kids.

Thanks for all your help. Does anyone know how long it takes to get the papers back? The show isn't until the end of September but I have to register her in the show by the 26th of this month and you need her papers to show her so now that has me worried.

In the Transfer section of the ADGA work order/schedule of rates, there's a Rush option, looks to be another $4.00.

is that what it cost? I was looking for that. Darn... already made out the check. Oh well... heres hoping they get here soon.
