Question Timothy grass pellet?

As for most of you hay is getting harder and harder to come by in Oklahoma. So I was thinking about buying Standlee timothy grass pellets. We already have free choice of their alfalfa so what do you guys think?

If I could only feed pellets it'd honestly be alfalfa...
protein in the timothy was 8 % as opposed to alfalfa's usual 16%...

They already get it. I was looking for something to help replace the hay we don't have here.

I use it to suppliment my hay in the evening. I give my 4 ND milkers about a half of an ice cream bucket of alfalfa pellets at night and have since added a mix of about 4 cups of timothy & beet pulp pellets to that. The weaners and boys get a small scoop too. The hay that's been available here is very disappointing. I haven't replaced the hay.

Ours get alf pellets. The alfalfa hay itself is too expensive for all the waste involved. However, - I've read that pellets alone will not provide enough roughage necessary for the rumen, hence ours get at least a home-made hay as well as the pellets (which they seem to enjoy, actually) and lots of browse. We're hoping the combo keeps everyone healthy and happy - but yep. It's hard to come by in some places, hard to afford in others this year. (This is only based on what I've read. Others can probably offer more experienced opinion).

If the alfalfa isn't more expensive than the Timothy, I'd probably just feed straight alfalfa. Should get lots of milk!
