Such a timely question as I have been researching and asking lots of professionals. I have asked my Hay guy, a long time rancher who raises cattle and horses, my Vet, my horsey neighbors and my County Ag Extention peeps.
I got all kinds of answers as to if horses and goats will eat it and when it is toxic. So....with our drought here in NE Texas, I am going to send it to Texas A&M for testing just to be sure. When it is toxic, it only takes 15 to 30 mins after eating it to kill an animal. I'm not willing to risk any of my animals.
