Unwanted visitors...again!
Well the Jehova Witnesses came back...It wasn't the same crew that Gretta attacked the last time. Blue mini van slowly pulls up, turns around, stops. Doors open and 4 ladies in their Sunday finest get out with big smiles on their faces. I'm standing at the door saying...can I help you? They are ignoring me and walking towards me saying "have you heard the good news?" I say "NO..what do ya want?" they say "we have good news something about bible blah blah blah" I say "I'm not interested and you better get your butts back in your van cuz the goats are loose and they will attack you" I turn and go back in the house. I watch through the window as Gretta, Frankie and Flossie approach...the ladies see them and quickly jump in their van and slam the doors. Gretta goes right to the front of the van and stands in the middle of the driveway. They try to drive off...she won't budge. They were too afraid to get out and too afraid to run over her so there they sat. I gave it a good 5 minutes before I called Gretta off.

OMG Minelson, you and your goats are a riot!!!! Since my GSD is not intimidating at all, maybe I'll train my bucks to guard and attack. Not only will they stop any threat, but they will stink up anyones trousers. Give Gretta a treat for that.

I've heard miniature cows make good guard pets (I think the guy was REALLY looking to move that heifer), but miniature goats?!? How SCARY!

I am not anti-Jehovah witness as i think its great to see someone working for their faith even if I do not agree with it, but as a young man i took a collection of "watch towers" and tossed them around a chalk outline in my driveway. somehow i think i could regain some of my youthfulness and a less guilty conscious by letting the goats do my bidding to unwanted guests.

Oh yes...Gretta got to know the "watch tower" the last time very well 
And I also am not anti JW...I don't like anyone of any race, religion, occupation, social standing, or hair color..coming on my property without calling first.
It's the risk they take.

You know I've noticed since getting the goats we have more people back down when they see Red then they do my 100 lb collie/ridgeback/pitmix. I have to laugh because Red is such a loving goat and just wants to be loved on and maybe some food. Titan is loving once he knows you. Hmm.. maybe my insurance should go down now that I have a guard goat.
I just love Gretta Minelson. I can sit and watch your videos all day long.

When I lived on the end of a dead end road waaayyy out in the sticks the local pack of dogs used to come and attack our herd of goats in the middle of the day. Our dogs would set to barking when they came so we took to leaving the rifle by the door where it was handy and could grab it on the way out the door when the dogs barked.
Now at this time we would get a visit from the local JW's every Sat morning usually about 0930. Now on this fine Sat. morning the dogs go to barking and I grab my rifle on the way out the door and find a car load of the local JW's in the driveway. The dogs had never bothered them. But this time they only stayed about 30 seconds and left. I don't know why. I did not threaten them. I did not point my gun at them. They just left and never came back. 
I kind of miss them they were at least a little bit entertaining.

I used to have a lab mix named Lucy, who loved everybody, and wanted to jump up and lick their faces. I wouldn't allow her to, except for the JoHos - I just opened the door and let her go!
We've often thought we should let the bucks free range in the driveway.

Maybe I have found a good use for the excess bucks that I have and even a way to market them to others. Because they are soooo incredibly sweet, they want to run to you, rub all over you and get their scratches. The stink from the peed on beard and legs is enough to make you cringe, but then autumn comes around and WHEW! do they smell!!!!! Perfect. Thank you Gretta for saving me and my little farm.

I don't know why you'd be rude to the Jehovah Witnesses. I don't agree with their beliefs, but have never found them to be pushy or rude.

If you are referring to me, I only meant as guard animals in general. I definitely didn't mean just the JW's. As a born again Christian, I would not want to "scare" them away, but actually tell them about what I have learned over the years. But there are always people out there whom we would rather not bother us, whoever they are. Sorry, if I offended anyone.
