It's a food buying co-op. Private membership. Sort of like the milk shares programs.

They are a target of the gov goons. This is the second raid.

This whole case really upsets me. Both sides are in the wrong. The co-op Rawesome sold milk to a non-member which is how they got into trouble this time and the raid was likely done illegally.
I need to do some research on how a private dairy works though. I was corrected by someone locally who does cow shares that a private dairy doesn't need a license. I'm confused at the moment

Aren't there some real crimes these agencies can go after?

My only problem is that if a license is required then they should have one.
I know many think the government should stay out of their business but the moment your food product enters the public food chain I for one like that there is some level of safety.

Raw Milk for one thing is a product that can and often does harbor many things that can harm you.
Where do we draw that line?
Should the government only test meat?
factory produced food?
Never dairy?
Can you imagine the illnesses and deaths if there were no inspections of any dairy products?

These rules and regulations are not in place to make money. Who is making money when the Dept of Agriculture comes to a farm to sample raw milk?

Don't get me wrong I love raw milk, raw everything and believe we should all have the freedom to eat what we want. But if you are selling it to the public then I am in strong agreement with those laws.

I do think those laws should be the same in every state.

All JMHO

States rights. The Fed needs to stay OUT of the issue. They already have too much power now.

The organization is a buyers co-op. If you are a private co-op, you CAN do what they were doing.

They got caught because they were tooooo lax on letting people join temporarily to purchase milk instead of going through an application process. If you are going to use the law to legally avoid other regulations, then you have to follow the part of the law that will protect you.

Yes this needs to be a state by state issue. Mostly the feds, in my opinion, are interested in control because they equate it with power. I am a hard core libertarian and a believer in the free market. If the things you sell make people sick people will not buy from you, if they have a choice.

Raw milk does have it's dangers but having the government stick its nose into every aspect of every business or personal choice is far more dangerous.

Exactly! I couldn't have said it better myself.
