You goat people are a hoot!

I do not know the first thing about caring for goats. Now, don't get me wrong. I am VERY interested, but nowhere close to being able to give it a try.

Seeing the stickies, and reading about some of the issues that arise really scares me. But knowing this forum is here is awesome.

I am usually in other parts of HT for the greatest amount of time. But when I use the "new posts" feature, and y'all show up, I can't resist! You guys are so funny!

And you have some of the most intriguing pictures. They really do have a relatable quality like a bunch of kids - ummm pun intended - don't they?

Thank you for the fun of your posts. I hope to be with you one day!

Be very very careful hanging around here. See the words under my username? Never have truer words been typed. You say, "I'll just get two," and then you have a herd. And you start to wonder where they all came from. But then things like fresh milk and cajeta show up in your fridge so it's a win-win situation---good stuff in the fridge and cuteness in the pasture. Or on the porch....

This board is not indicative of normal goat owners. Trust me.

Do you mean that in a positive or negative way? Is the "normal" in this case a good thing or a bad thing?

Yes, what did you mean? Don't burst my illusion that "goat people" are so fun and entertaining!

That is what I was thinking. I am thinking it must be a good thing because I would hate to be considered normal.

So true! I tried being "normal" once. Scared me so badly that I went back to being me. Whew!

When I was teaching, I had a bulletin board with a collection of bumper stickers. My favorite.......

NORMAL IS BORING!

That said, this board is filled with people who love goats. Goats are our passion. We study goats and goat care.

"Normal" goat people stick them in a pasture fenced with barbed wire and expect them to survive on trash.

Thank goodness we aren't Normal

I am not a goat person either. My MIL is and she is just as crazy about her goats as this goat thread. Ya'll crack me up (in a good way). Texas is over populated with goats IMO. I like sheep they are more laid back with less drama. If I had that much drama I'd be pulling out my hair But I love reading about your goat drama and looking at your pics.
