Buck Gone Wild

I think my Nubian Buck has lost his mind! I have a young female Anatolian shepherd in with him and my Angora wethers and Buck. He is acting like the LGD is his new girlfriend. He is treating her just like a doe! He is putting on his favorite cologne, talking to her, and trying to....well, you know. Poor Little Girl is NOT interested and I have to give it to her for being patient. She hasn't outright bite him on the nose but I can tell she is getting tired of his unwanted advances. I've never had a buck act like this around one of my dogs before. Plus, it is so hot and humid here that my other buck, an Angora, could care less about being romantic. Anyone else have this problem?

Gretta gets infatuated with Boris when she goes into heat sometimes...She drives him crazy and follows him everywhere. He gets sick of it and wants to go in the house.

My Nubian buck is thinking he's the local studmuffin, too. And I'm the only thing around. I have to take the hose with me and give him a nice cold shower if I want to get anything done... I will say, he really doesn't like the hose now LOL Matter of fact, I think he's quit the cologne...

I would NOT have a dog in with him. He will hurt the dog or the dog will hurt him. I had a GSD bitch once that castrated a stud because she was not interested in his advances.

I'd save the poor dog... lol Can you put her elsewhere until he gets over his cross species love affair?

I now have chickens in my front yard thanks to my mom's mini buck, Houston (staying here until her fence is complete).

He had a rough start, was sick off and on and when he recovered he went from baby goat to man goat in less than a week....has been perfuming for about 3 weeks now, has the longest beard of the boys (though he's the youngest) and is being a pest.

Had my chickens in with them but he took a fancy to one of the Jersey black giant hens & the love wasn't mutual!!! After dealing with sprayed hens & one almost being killed during his love making, the chickens had to go! I'm not fond of chickens in the front yard, but it sure beats the alternative.....just ask my poor abused hens!

My boys have nick names.... Tonka is "goober boy", Sam is "sweet baby" and Houston is "the chicken rapist"....

Rockytopsis, Boris is 1/2 German Shepherd 1/2 we don't know. We rescued him from the humane society when he was 6 months old. I have to admit...he is a gorgeous dog And a really good boy.

I move Little Girl to the next pasture with the young does. Now my crazy Buck is running the fence line crying for her. Oh boy....he's such a stud. LOL I feel for the two angora wethers that are with him......

Minelson, I love that picture! It is so sweet!

Hopefully your bucks passion for the dog will subside in a day or 2. Probly best to leave her with the does' right now anyways. Your wethers probly will pay the price though.

When we were walking the show pigs yesterday, I noticed our yorkshire was in heat. We let her out into the buck pen to get some exercise and work with them. Well my Nigerian buck took a fancy to her, she could have cared less..LOL
