Someone took my Brie

I went out to the little cheese fridge this evening to turn the cheeses. I have a nice Manchego aging, and I *thought* that I had three rounds of Brie. Only two remain.

This is a little startling.

LOL! I am familliar with this particular problem too.
Take notes! Take pictures! It is your word against theirs.

Gotta lock those cheese-babies up to keep them safe.

<screwed a hasp on my fridge, no joke, padlocked it.>

Was the cheese sealed in wax?

One of my relatives kept having food 'borrowed' out of their freezers. No big borrowings, but a regular taking. Some 'should have been homeless' people were renting from the relatives brother... no job, welfare paid for the rent...

They finally started wrapping up cuts of meat that were usually thrown to the dogs, labeling them with nice names. After a few borrowings, it stopped. Maybe they got sick, maybe disgusted... but it did end.....

Maybe seal up something rancid, and put a 'sweet' sounding label on it?

Hope you find your cheese... or the frogs that 'borrowed' it...

Alice, you can take it as a compliment. Your cheese must be danged good.

I am guessing that it *IS* stealably delicious. Just put a lock on the fridge.
Easy-peasy and it never happens again.

Not waxed. A Brie that was JUST about ready to cut.

The Manchego is waxed.

Do you have an extra fridge as a cheese cave? I am figuring how I would age Brie's and such. Oh, the goat's milk Brie must be most excellent - if I were there, I probably would have been the one to adopt it.

Yes, I have a little college dorm room size fridge out in the garage.

I think I've figured out who might have taken it. He buys milk, and he came while I was at a meeting. My friend here told him to "take what you need."

Since your friend told him to take whatever he needed,I would put a sign on the fridge that says "There is nothing in here that you need", to prevent future confusion.
