What a difference!

With Piglet's little girls being 2 weeks old now, we started putting them up at night and really milked her for the first time this morning. She has been getting her grain on the stand and getting "fondled" frequently, so she was no trouble at all to get started. She was a little fidgety and knocked the pail over once, but there was nowhere near the fight that we had when we started milking Chevy. I know that a lot of it has to do with the little bit of experience we've gotten with Chevy, but I couldn't believe how much easier the first time was with this one.

I do have one question. The kids were fine after their night away from mama, and we will be milking her every morning. Is it ok to milk her in the afternoon, too? Or should we wait a while before taking milk in the morning and afternoon?

Thanks.

You have to see how the kids are doing and if they are getting enough milk, if she seems full in the evening and they are as well then shes doing enough.

Im glad shes doing well for you, I knew she would make a good little milker shed always squat down when you tickled her and I made it a point to mess with that area as much as possible..
