False pregnancy/Cloud-burst

So I'm going to be leasing a friends well bred doe for this coming breeding season. She was said to have had a false pregnancy/cloud-burst that was diagnosed by a vet last month, he did an ultrasound but seen no babies. My friend said she seen the doe have discharge like she expelled her false pregnancy a few weeks ago. Its been a little over a month sense the vet ultrasounded her, but she looks so big and prego like still..... how long will she stay this way?? I want to make sure she is ready to be bred again this fall.

My parents had a doe with a false pregnancy several years ago. She had a cloudburst and came into milk. The cloudburst occurred a couple of months after her due date (had she been pregnant).

Some does will look big even if they have already expelled the false pregnancy. I would try to breed her back at the beginning of the season. She will have a better chance of catching.

I had asked when her due date would have been and she was unsure. She never came into milk but got really big. I had someone suggest luting her?? Said if she still thought she was pregnant that luting her might fix that, and it would make sure anything left will exit ?? Is this something I should or need to do?

I also found out today that she was forced into heat this last time, which I read could cause them to have a false pregnancy. Interesting!

I have one here right now that's going thru a false pregnancy. I had the vet come out and do an ultrasound on her and there was nothing there. He recommended that I lute her and then breed her again if I so desired. He said that luting her will clean her out good.
