Talking Look what non-goat surprise we found

As some of you know, we have a sheep pasture and a goat pasture. We let our Kahtadin/Dorper ram run with the ewes and he was only recently added in February. One of the ewes (all Kahtadins) was pretty chubby to begin with, so we weren't sure "Half 'n Half" was going to be able to do his job with her as some overweight animals have a harder time breeding. Well, I guess I was wrong, because our neighbor came knocking on our door saying there was a baby near the sheep shed. I thought "why of course, we do have older lambs out there". He repeated that there was a baby out there and didn't know who's it was. I finally got it - duh, there is a new lamb out there. I went and checked and there is a new ewe lamb from said chubby ewe. So, I looked at one of the other ewes (last year's baby) and lo and behold, she is bagging up big time, so now I have to be more vigilant to look for signs of lambing. The new baby is dry, nursing and running around with momma, so apparently she delivered sometime this morning - probably right before or during my morning milking. Gosh, I worry about my goats so much, I didn't even think that we could be lambing now too. Goes to show me Here is the new little girl.

I can't wear helmets. They interfere with the tin foil hat I wear to keep the aliens from reading my brain waves.

Very nice surprise! I had one of those recently, as well. Also a fat, fat Katahdin/Dorper ewe - fatter than yours! She still has rolls of fat over her tailhead, but she popped out a beautiful ram lamb, by our new Dorper ram.

Callian, are you wearing your helmet???

~thunk ~ ~thwack ~ ~rumble, wobble, rumble~ ~ thud ~

(Sounds of Caliann falling over, hitting the arm of her chair, half landing on the floor, half landing on her LGD, LGD jumping up in surprise and tumbling Caliann halfway across the room, and her finally coming to rest at the foot of the leather easy chair.)
