Pics!

I trimmed their feet last night after they arrived and they got wormed this morning with Cydectin. I am going to have to order some copper for them.

The older doe (who is the mother of BigWig) is Cetlic-Knot Redeemed although we are calling her Penny because it seems to fit. She freshened two months ago and has just been nursing her buckling kids. They came with her but were only here for an hour before someone was here to get them. She doesn't seem to mind one bit that her babies are gone. In fact the look on her face was along the lines of "Thank goodness those little leeches are finally gone, they just wouldn't leave me alone."

This morning we milked her (she has a beautiful udder) and got 5 cups. I have no doubt that with consistent milking she will go up in production. Last year she was giving 12 to 13 pounds of milk a day.

The younger doe is Penny's daughter and BigWig's full sister out of the same litter. Her registered name is Beyond Goats Ariel's Star. Now you would think that we would call her Ariel or Star. But she reminds me of Swiss Miss hot chocolate. So we've been calling her Little Miss Swiss. She is a dry yearling although she does have a precocious udder. She reminds me a lot of Hershey.

Here is Penny (Redeemed)
