mimosa

I have heard that minosa (because it is a member of the pea family) makes good fodder..anybody use it or know anything about it in regards to goats? It grows fast and I could see it as a cropable fodder plant??

Researching brings up mimosa, honeylocust and others as high protein forage.

I'll get back to my internet searching but would really like some first person actual feeders to weigh in and tell me if you feed it, how much and how the goats like it. I have multi-flora rose out the wahzoo and know goats love THAT, but don't like cutting it to feed..ever had a hold of one of those canes and have an anxious goat rip it through your hand before you can let go???!!! I never understood how they can eat that thorny stuff!!

I cut back the Mimosa and feed it to the goats. They love it.

I used to have a nice, shady, pretty mimosa grove. The hummingbirds nested in it and loved the flowers.

Notice I said "used to"??

what kind of scientific name; one mentions that mimosa might have teratogenic effects on pregnant ruminants.
