So Happy!

As you all know, we had to give up all of our goats just a short while ago. Then, within days of seeing them go, Fate (who has a very twisted sense of humor) shows us a way to keep just a few does.

We aren't going to be keeping bucks, but luckily BigWig is just down the road from me.

Miranda is having to move to Iowa and has to reduce her herd. So we are taking BigWig's mother and full sister. His sister won't be able to be bred with him, but the people who have him, have other bucks. And, his mother is in milk which is great because we finally used up the last of the frozen goat milk and I had to buy store milk. My youngest wouldn't eat his cereal this morning, kept saying it was stinky. My oldest ate his cereal, but dumped the milk afterward and my middle child chose to eat his cereal dry. None of the kids have wanted a glass of milk today.

AND! Tin Mom, the wonderful and kind woman that she is, has offered to let us buy back our Bella.

We will then just have three does and no bucks. But we will have goats and be extremely happy.

Thank you to both Miranda and Betsy.

Such good news! I don't know what shape I'd be in if I had to sell my goats, that will be a sad day for sure but hopefully not for a long long time til I'm old(well older anyways)!

It has been an extremely tough time here. I can finally look at the goat pen without tears in my eyes. And we happily visited our tiny little barn where the stalls and milk stands are.

I can't tell you how relieved I am to have them back and how happy I am that Bella will be coming back to live here. When I sold my horse several years ago now, I was sad but relieved at the same time. When the goats left, all I felt was very, very sad. I have decided that they are now required for my mental health. Other people take Xanax, I take doses of TWG (Time With Goats)

The side effects of TWG are:

Healthy milk to drink
goat berries
caramel sauce
cheese
butter
soap
goat berries
baby goats
sleeplessness in the spring
goat berries
and tree trimming

As soon as they get here, you will have pics!

BigWig's mother and sister will arrive maybe tomorrow evening (keeping fingers crossed) or Thursday morning.

Bella will be staying with Tin Mom and her family because they want to show her. I will get her back in September.

It is funny because my need at the time to rehome my goats, made it so you could replace the two CAE positive does you had to put down.

Then, right when there was a way for me to have kept the goats, Miranda has to move to Iowa and needs to find homes for some of her goats.

So I guess it all worked out the way it was suppose to.

Thank heaven! I thought I was going to have to make a road trip to Kansas, loaded down with goats and hay, and sneak them into your barn! Do you realize just the gas money this has saved me?

Congrats, hon! You deserve a change of luck!
