Tennis Ball Fix

I have a Samancha doe whose disbudding didn't take-(the last time I'll use that vet)-anyhow,they stick straight up,making them dangerous. She has become a bully, so we tried the tennis ball fix, using a small slit and superglue. Sometime later in the day, here came our lab , ball in mouth, wanting to play ball. They didn't make it even one day! I need help. What is the technique? The other goats, and I, will be eternally grateful.

I heard duct tape a pvc pipe between them for fencing. I don't know if it would help you or not. I want to band the ones on my boys , but flys are an issue. If I was doing a doe I would do her before breeding time. My kids keep getting horned in the face by accident. No injurys yet, just some scrapes, but I need to get them taken care of before anyone loses an eye.

Layers of duct tape over the tips of the horns to dull the points. Then wrap (more duct tape!) those tips around the circumference of the horns to hold the first application of duct tape in place. May have to reapply periodically.

Google search for images about PVC on goat horns:

Have you considered banding the base of the horns so they come off?

I wish I could figure out how to post pics..

we just had to do this for our smallest doe, one of two with horns in our herd.

She started picking fights with her horns and all our other doe's had the cuts to prove it.

We made a hole in two tennis balls, placed them over the horns and duct taped them all around and between to each horn.

this was about 3 weeks ago and she still has them, they look tattered as she wants to rub them off of course, but so far, so good.

we banded her last fall and she was able to pop each band off even with the horns notched, we plan to do it again this fall as the insects should have died down, but have read to cover them with electrical tape.

our little doe looks like an alien now, lol
