How accurate is weight tape

I had finally started getting weights on my goats with Hoegger's weight tape. For med and worming purposes, how accurate is it? I know there is no way it can be 100%, but if it's within 5lbs. +/-, then that helps me a lot with my med doses.

That is all I have ever used is tape. I just use regular cloth tape people use for sewing and such. I have compared it to what the vet gets with a scale and it is pretty darned close. A big prego doe can throw it off but I can guess according to how far I think she is.

For young kids we just use a bathroom scale since it is more crucial to be close with the meds in most cases.
