Sold my boer cross yesterday

Sold CLaires first baby yesterday. She is looking everywhere for her. Should I milk her a little to dry up, does anyone here milk boers to drink? Could I milk and feed to bottle calves? Should I put her with our reg boer buck and see what happens, how likely she would be in heat next 3 weeks? And What about November babies? I guess it wouldnt be any colder than February babies. Any advice?

her milk will be like any other goat milk, milk her if you want and use the milk for your self, perfectly fine, what is she mixed with? non milk breeds are only known as milk breeds because of the AMOUNT of milk they produce not the quality, milk is milk, also non milking breeds dont produce as long as a dairy doe,

you can put her with the buck and she could breed back, it just depends on her personal heat cycle.

We are planning on November babies as well. Our first time, but I'm not worried about it.

Taste the milk, if you like it, then use it. If not you could feed it to a bottle calf, chickens or whatever.

I'm very curious how my Boer cross does would milk, they have nice big udders. I may milk one of them at some point just to see what they produce.

Best of luck!

Can someone please tell this to my grade Boer herd matriarch? Her twins were born... Jan13, I think? We still have the one doe kid, and she is still producing milk on both sides, and nursing her daughter, who is a TANK. All the other does whose kids are still at their sides have kicked them off and dried up, but not Red, ho no.

I've heard of extended breastfeeding when it comes to the other kind of Kid", but Red is really taking it to the next level.

I think i will try to milk her, and mix with the milk replacer for the cattle, i really hate feeding them the replacer the calves next to us, same age are so much stockier, that are on the cows, so I might see how that works I am just learning about calves now

I've always been told boers have milk with very high butterfat for growing those meaty babies.....I've tried milk from a 3/4 boer, 1/4 Lamancha that was really great & reminded me of Nigerian milk.

I'd milk her and see how it goes..
