Health History

I got tired of thumbing through old notes or calendars to figure out who had what treatment, and when, and for what.

I found a handy log sheet online (darned if I can find THE one again) and made several copies of the blank. I use one sheet per goat, and notate births, dates, CD&T vacs, copper boluses, treatments for scours or pneumonia or pinkeye, etc.

These sheets are kept in their own binder, with dividers denoting bucks, does and younglings. When I sell a goat, the health history goes along with the reg certificate (if any). New owners really appreciate this, and I appreciate being able to find the info I need with ease.

You posted this while I was suggesting that you do on the other thread.

Can you scan a blank one and post it?

I have a sheet I made up for my dogs in Word. I just used the table template with 25rows and 10 columns spaced as needed for date, weight, vaccines, etc. Then, for the goats, I took the same form and just changed some of the titles for CDT, wormer, etc. I have them in a binder in plastic sleeves. One sheet per goat or dog. It makes life so much easier.

Y'all are so organized, you're killing this ADHD person here. I've started so many notebooks, spreadsheets, etc., to try to do just this and it never sticks. :/ Once the shiny wears off I completely forget and it's off to another idea/project/wild goose chase.

Keep it in the milk house, if you spend more time there than just milking. Keep a calendar on the wall there, too.

OR.... keep it by the chair you collapse into in the evenings.

Nehimama, if you still have the original, right click on it. Sometimes it has under properties where a page comes from... I've been able to backtrack that way a few times, because I can never remember where I've been LOL Hmmmm, maybe we should call it goat-timers?

Here are two PDF files designed for 4Hers, but they are pretty good record sheets and you could copy the format into your own spread sheet or text document.

Not the one I was looking for, but even better! Nice that it's downloadable, too. Thanks for the input.
