fence repair

This is a typical section of fence on 14 acres that I bought and want to repair in order to keep goats. My question is, if I run about three more strands of barbed wire along bottom and in between lower strands, will this keep goats in? Also, (I think this will be a no but will ask anyway) would it keep coyotes out? (We would have a LGD to help also.)

Just my opinion but I would not use barbed wire for goats at all. That fence wouldn't keep my goats in & I doubt if it will keep coyotes out either. Coyotes will just go under or dig under that fence.

No, unfortunately, it won't work either for goats or coyotes. Those are two of the most determined species!

It would work if you put hot electric fencing between the barbed wire.

It would not keep my goats in at all and I'ld never use barbed wire.

Our place had all barbed wire when we bought it, and believe me, it barely slows down goats. I've watched (and cringed) as they go under or between strands like it isn't even there.

We have electric net paddocks that get moved every two or three days for our goats, as long as it's hot they stay in and everything else stays out.
