Kind of a bland thread

DW and I run a local petsitting business and one of our regular clients is a hobby farm. On this farm are 14 goats (I feel like singing ee-i-eee-i-oh) and I have learned to really like goats as a result. They are individuals, some assertive, some shy and always doing interesting things. Whether it is a shy one slipping up behind me to nibble on my belt or one of the more aggressive ones trying to get by me to get at the horse's alfalfa they are all very sweet and personable.
I know some of you have written about goats-gone-wild, getting aggressive etc, etc. but these aren't like that and have been a wonderful introduction to goatherding.

They are pretty terrific, aren't they?

I don't suppose that you're in western Illinois? I'm looking for someone just like you for September, when we celebrate DD's wedding.

Best wishes,

Kathy

No where near. Eventually, when I have the space and place I'm hoping to get a few goats of my own. That'll be a while and require me to know a heck of a lot more than I do now about goat husbandry. Or in my case, goat-wifery?

I LOVE my goats. They are the most loveable livestock I've ever owned. I used to train horses as a profession, but goats have stolen my heart and are sweeter than almost any horse I've known. Of course they are irritating too at times like when they chew on yor hair or rip sequins off the pockets of your capris.

Love & spoil our goats here too! They can test your patience sometimes & they really keep you on your toes at other times but for the most part they are wonderful!
With out alot of human contact a goat can go feral quite fast & there are also some that can be aggressive or mean but they wouldn't last that way here.

We have a tendency to fret about our problem kids here, but on the whole they are delightful animals.
