There and Back Again: A Goat's Tail

After three days of mushy tail and no ligs, tonight at milking time, yup, you guessed it. Those ropy little harbingers of NO BABEEZ FOR UUUUUU TONIGHT came back.

I'm thinking she's holding out for the full moon on the 15th. And I'm thinking since we just got a second electric netting paddock today, no more pasture breeding for me. Hondo and Hickory can share the new paddock and the does better let me know when they're ready for some luvin' if they wanna have babies.

Oh I know. She can't hold it/them in forever. Just thought w/ the leaking colostrum and the mush tail, it'd be soon.

I need more milk. Need this gal to freshen. From the looks of her udder already, she'll hopefully produce enough to cut out us needing to buy cow's milk for DH (since neither I nor DS tolerate store-bought cow's milk at all, he drinks that so there'll be more for us). So tired of milking 2 does twice a day and getting 3 pounds a day! Granted, one came back in milk w/o kidding so I know she isn't going to be a big producer til she freshens again. And the other I knew when I bought her wasn't a big producer but she was local and tested clean and was cheap and a sweetheart.

*sigh*

Going to bed, tomorrow is another day...

I've had two with tails you that touch fingers under, shiny bags, and 1000 yard stares for four days. I have gotten up 3 or 4 times each night to check them. Just laying there, looking at me like I'm crazy. They could be due anytime between June 2nd and June 16th. They'll probably string me along until midnight on the 17th.
