Is she..isn't she...

Okay sorry to start another thread but I have a different question same doe. Now her udder is drying up! She got really full and walked funky like something was pinching along with the floppiest vulva I have ever seen then nothing .

I bounced her to see if I could feel anything...anything at all and I felt nothing (really starting to hate that word), no bony things nada zip. So now I am scratching my head going...could she have slipped the kids? I don't think so because I have seen NO goo or any sign of that plus I check her tendons daily and there has been no change. They are by no means rock hard but you can tell they are there. I am about ready to haul this dang doe to the vet to have a ultrasound done just to make sure I truly am not going crazy.

Any ideas? Does this sound like a false pregnancy or a ghost pregnancy? Since her udder is getting smaller and looks like she is starting to dry herself up start milking her? I guess I should say it isn't getting smaller just less full. I don't want to have her dry up on me because I really want her milking but I don't want to harm any kids if she truly is pregnant and I am afraid to not milk her and have her dry up because she wasn't truly pregnant.

I have never had a doe do this before to me and I have looked up ghost pregnancies and this has some of the symptoms but not all (like labor). I was going to go in and check her cervix but when I bounced her and felt nothing what so ever I am questioning whether I should even bother. It wouldn't hurt that much I know but I haven't the slightest what I should be feeling for. Any ideas or suggestions as to what course of action I should take?

Just when I think they can't make me go any crazier they pull this stunt.

Justine

Have you pulled blood and sent to BioTracking for pregnancy test on her? That would be my next step.

I would but from what I understand you can't tell if they are having a phantom pregnancy from that as they still have the hormones? I am seeing my vet next thursday to have my older buck castrated (he is retiring ) and I will ask her what she thinks about what my doe is doing.

My doe isn't in distress by any means I just wish I could know if I could start milking her or not! I hate to let her go a year without milking but I don't want to start milking if she actually is pregnant. Goats...they always keep us on our toes.

Thank you RedSonja though for the suggestion I still might just pull blood on her anyways.
