TITO doesnt look too good

On Monday evening I noticed Tito not looking too well, eyes droopy, and hair just not right, like it might be falling out, i know he was losing some under coat, and it got hot here all of a sudden, but when I went to feed them a little grain, he wasnt even interested,,,not like him at all, he usually is the boss!
So yesterday I made hubby look at him, and he noticed right away he didnt look right. Although he still has energy to not let me catch him, which is also strange, he always comes to me. He gave him a shot of la 200 yesterday and again this morning, I dont know how much. I gave him, some goat drench twice yesterday. ALso put some nutrients in his water. Today i gave him some vitamin B orally and gave him a little grain again. This time he ate it. I cant take his temp cause he will not hold still and I cant do it alone.
Does this sound like it could be worms? I havent looked at his eyes in the last few days, but I do try to look at them quite often. I think now that he has gotten 2 shots he will never come to me to ck them. Any ideas what could be wrong with him? He had his cdt shots/boosters and it is just now time for his one for this year, should I go ahead and give it to him?

Thanks for your help

Take his temp as soon as you can he might be getting pneumonia. Higher then 103.5 and he may be coming down with it. If it is low like 101 or under then he has rumen issues.

You would need PenG for pneumonia if I remember right. I am not functioning well this morning.
I dislike LA200, I use Biomycin, if you do not have it let the LA200 get to room temp, it is suppose to sting less.

Water and hay is what I would give him, grain no or anything else right now and leave him out some baking soda as well.

He does have baking soda, noticed he has eaten it, i will give him more. I do have some of the PenG also. I am out of hay, but the man that showed mowed our field so he can bale it, is bringing me back some when he comes with the rake.

just went back out to ck on him and his poop was balls (that clumped) and now looks like it might be getting runny. I barely got him and checked eyes, they do look pale. Gave him more baking soda and some fresh cold water. I hate to just de worm him with anything. We try not to deworm them too often, I just looked at my records and he had positive pellets in aug and again in Sept cooper bolus in sept and sel/E in jan WHen we got him last year we gave him albon and quest in April and then in april the breeder had given him ivomec injectable orally before we took him, He had his last vaccine on June 4th.

The positive pellets wormers I don't believe are enough to take care of most worms. Is it possible for you to take a fecal to the vet? What other wormers do you have on hand?

I suggest you do some more reading about goat care. There are some signs you may have missed earlier, and some ongoing support that your goats need.

1. Good mineral with high copper (as well as the boluses) to support skin/hair health and immune system support.
2. Regular fecal testing so that they don't get to the point of severe anemia and risk getting ill and dying from it.
3. Learning what dewormers don't work, even if they are labeled for goats.

Here's info about dewomers:

Thanks Alice,

I admit with everything going on right now, i have been a little laxed on my reading up. All the new kids arrived and everything has been going pretty good, they all seem healthy still nursing and eating some grain and out with moms all day. The boys looked good and seemed healthy, All the momma got dewormed after kidding and before milking. I am going to see about sending the fecals to this is mid america place that was on that link you sent.

I did the dose of 1cc per 10 pounds as suggested on the dairygoat site of the valbazen, I know that I dont know that it is the right one to use, but since it covers quite a few I thought I would go with that.
The boys do have a loose mineral with high copper in it along with a block to for them to lick.

They have thier own big pasture area.

Can the LA 200 cause the loose stools? That wasnt happening until yesterday after 2 doses of the antibiotic and some goat drench.

Should I give him pepto or do you think that will interfere with the valbazen working? I gave valbazen last evening.

I also have all the molly wormers that I was getting ready to start them all on, so I will ck on that as well and see about starting that or waiting.

He was up this morning eating leaves etc in the trees, so I am hoping that is a good sign, he did come to me to see if I was going to give him grain...i didnt yet. Was thinking maybe some probios on top a little grain??

Thanks

Whenever I use an antibiotic I also give them probitics. Antibitics attack not only the bad bacteria but also the good, so you need to relace the good to keep the digestive system healthy.

I would be scared to use herbal wormer if I didn't do my own fecals to see if it is working.
