Listerine for Mosquito's?

My sister & I were talking the other day about Listerine as a Mosquito repellant. Anyone ever try this before on their goats? She was talking about for humans. Got me thinking though since I use some stuff from TSC that was said might not be good on does' that your milking for human consumption.

Snopes.com says that listerine killing mosquitoes is false. I've seen people use it and still get bit

Oh and I have 2 HUGE bottles of it taking up space with many other home made bug repellent supplies that don't work.

I have been using the Ultra Sheild EX or DuraGuard. I get them at TSC but Jeffers sells the same stuff.

Just thought Listerine might be a better way to go, less chimacals anyways. If it works that is.
Mosquito's are really bad already this year.

So much for Listerine! I'll keep using the Ultra Sheild EX stuff I guess.

Last year, when we had mosquitos, I tried the "Skin So Soft" Avon stuff on the milk goats and it worked very well. The rest just got fly spray.

I always used the Avon's Skin so Soft tto but I had to spray the goats just about everyday with it to keep the mosquito's away from them & of course some of them think I am killing them while I'm spraying them.

Last year is when I started using the Ultra Sheild EX. It doesn't last on them as long as the bottle says but about a week to 10 days I think. I think it was Susanne here that told me some of the chemicals could make it through the skin & to the milk(not sure if she said it exactly that way).
Then my sister was talking about the Listerine which I have never tried before.

We make our own... It has water, vodka, and various essential oils in it. On myself, I use one called Arbor Oil; it is straight oils. Works great! You smell like an essential oil beacon, though.
