Buckeye feed?

http://www.buckeyenutrition.com/medi...oat%20feed.pdf

Anyone have anything good or bad to say about this brand of feed? I like http://www.blueseal.com/livestock/goat/feeds.php#cc
Caprine Challenger, but I have to make a long trip to buy it, and I like that the buckeye feed listes whole products, specific grains and not "Grain by-products" -

Well in general the label reads alright, however their is a great deal of soy in the product and personally we did not care for the "woody" taste it gave to the milk. To break it down its corn and soy with a tiny amount of other things thrown in and you can probably make that mix on your own a good bit cheaper.

I've mixed my own with oats, alfalfa, BOSS and corn and never liked the results - lol - Don't know what the deal is with that - Ideally, I'd like a tag with a lot less soy.

In the horse world, Buckeye is a TOP feed; I know the designer/nutritionist personally and he is a scientist; super guy. He broke off from Buckeye to start his own feed: Progressive Feeds, but his recipes are still in use at Buckeye for the most part.

I've considered just buying Triple Crown Complete as a goat feed and doing half that and half half alfalfa - because I love TCC for horses. . .

Great to know Buckeye is a quality horsefeed - makes me feel better all around.

Ive never heard of anything bad about the feed, just to make that noted, just funny how the soy seems to give milk a funky flavor

btw, I used to use all grain from tsc when mixing my feeds it worked better than the dry ingredients for some reason. So far we are happy with ADM its more convenient that Godfreys but I still think Godfreys does the most for my dairy girls.

I dont think its going to be something practical for you because of the lack of stores near you, its a great feed though, I can tell the difference all the way around. When I get ready to milk test they will all be put back on it before hand.

heres a link to the dealers, might find something comparable if some one mixes their own.
