Sudden heat and sudden diarreah?!

For this area, we have had a fairly mild May heat-wise because of the numerous cold fronts that have followed our violent (hail and tornado producing) storms. However, the past two days have been suddenly hot and in the 90's. With this hot weather, a good chunk of my herd has come down with diarreah. They were wormed 4 weeks ago (with Ivermectin) and nothing in their diets have changed and they have plenty of access to hay and clean water. I rewormed the ones with the trots with Valbazen and am giving ProBiotics. Could the sudden heat have thrown off their digestive system that much or is it because the parasite load gets so heavy this time of year? I am just trying to figure out what it could be because I know MY belly isn't the greatest in the very hot weather.

We are having basically the same weather as you are.. hot, then wet/wet/wet/storms.. cold again, now really hot & humid.. I'm not seeing any diarrhea in any of my herd.. adults or kids... I don't however use either Ivermectin nor Valbazen for worming. (I use cydectin pour-or orally) Are these adult goats? or kids? (wet weather going into hot.. thinking cocci might also be your issue .. or the wormers you've choosen aren't working in your herd)

good luck getting them all cleared up.. I know how worrisome it is to have some not feeling well.

I'm all for worming preventatively for Liverfluke since it probably won't show up in a fecal. Valbazen and IvomecPlus get them. How is eyelid color?

well, heat = thirst, thirst = larger water consumption than normal which = more pee and looser poop. It shouldnt last too long but I wouldnt think of it being abnormal if it last a day or two or they are not loose stools in the am but by pm they are. Get a fecal done first and check the famancha chart out and go from there but its nothing that would suprise me, unless its explosive instead of loose

I would dig deeper...fecal for sure. Feed only grass hay until it clears up. We go through temp extremes here all the time and it never caused loose stool.
