Ivomec 1%

I have the Ivomec for cattle and swine and need to delouse my Saanen female goat. I have been reading conflicting info on the dosage. Everywhere, it says to give orally but I have seen 1cc for 50 lbs and as low as 1 cc for 25 lbs. Which is it?

It's both, or all 3.

Further south the worms are more resistant, so usually the dosage is higher & more frequent, but not always depends on the management & cullfactors.

Further north the worms (for us) are not so bad, so we dose at 1cc/50#, less frequently. We also rotational graze, breed for resistance, & get a good solid freeze most of the winter.

If you post where you are located I'm sure someone from your area can give you what is working for them.

I would not lessen the dose just because you aren't targeting stomach worms, but instead give an appropriate dose for de-worming and it will take care of the lice. I use Permectrin poured down the spine when I'm targeting only lice during winter.

Thank you for the responses. I am in Canada so cold winters for sure

I dosed her at 2 cc and she still has some lice on her. I think I will have to try a pour-on. Also, mosquitoes this year are like a plague from the Bible. I need to try something for that too.

Cylence Pour On is approved for dairy animals. It's labeled for lice, flies, etc.

Thanks Alice. I'll see if I can get it up here. I appreciate advice from folks who know their stuff better than I do.

The Cylence is good stuff. I buy mine from Jeffers livestock. I would think they would ship to Canada but not sure.
