How fast you can milk depends a lot on teat structure. If they are long enough for you to handle gracefully and have good orifices, then the milking goes as fast as you can make your hands work.
I'm blessed with two does who have teats just longer than the width of my hand, and they are not overly meaty, and they have good (not tightly closed) orifices. I bought one doe (and quickly sold her) who had meaty, cone shaped teats. VERY thick near the udder. My hands and wrists screamed in pain trying to milk her!
My MiniMancha has small teats, but I use a modified Udderly EZ Milker on her. Otherwise, I'd be using two fingers to milk, and it *would* take half an hour.
The pre-milking routine does help the doe let down her milk. Music, brushing, washing teats, etc. It's reassuring to them.
