Question!!!

Lacy just kidded with triplet doelings... we where surprised that there where only 3 but two are huge so that must have accounted for her hudgeness. Anyway we will be keeping one and although I normally dam raise we have no where to separate the 'kid' we are keeping on a permanent basis so I was going to bottle feed the kid we are keeping. Any advise would be appreciated. We will be using lacys milk. My questions are should i take her now or can i wait 24 hours for her? after we seperate her for the first week can i let her back in with the others and just bottle feed or will she likley try to go straight to nursing?
Also should I bottle feed 2 (even though i will only be keeping 1 ) gso they will have company??

If you are going to allow any of them to nurse from the dam, why not just leave them all with her? Is this so you won't have to "wean" her later?
The earlier you get them on a bottle, the better and easier it'll be for her to transition. But yes, I'd bottle 2 in that case. I don't know if she'd go back to nursing after one week but by then her dam probably won't allow her back on.

Yes it is so we dont have to ween her. I honestly dont like the whole idea bottle raising unless we have to .... But I really dont know if i can take here away from her mom so.... here is hoping Lacy weens her on her own

I'm sorry, but I'm having difficulty understanding your questions?

Why would you want to take "one" off its dam when you're leaving the other two on her? (If she is not making enough milk for all 3, you would need to use milk from a different source instead of Lacy's milk.)

If you normally dam raise there's no reason Lacy can't feed triplets. My does' don't seem to have a problem with triplets, any more than 3 & I'd bottle feed one but I also prefer to dam raise our kids when possible.

My does' start weaning their kids when they are ready. I kinda think mother nature takes care of that & if you spend alot of time with your goats your dam raised kids will be as friendly as bottle raised.

Thanks, I have decided to Dam raise as usual and just hope Lacy weens when it is time and I'm not stuck with a 1 year old milk hog for lacy's next breeding.

Beautiful babies!!! My gosh such colors and blue eyes to boot, lucky you!
They would benefit from a dose of BoSe - see the way the one kid's leg is hyperextended?
