Question about Corrid

Now that I have started feeding the medicated nobel goat feed to our 3 month old does, Do I still need to give them Corrid for prevention of cocci?

That just depends on how much they are eating of the feed. I heard somewhere that they need to be eating a pound a day to get enough of the medication. For us, usually somewhere around 3 months I figure they are eating more of the feed and less and less milk so we stop cocci prevention at that point.

I do. If they are not eating enough of the feed it will not control the coccidia. It tells on the bag what they need to eat to control. I'm a bit OCD and use Corid anyway. At least until they are four months old or so. Then do it at the six month mark, and the nine month mark to ensure.

Same here.... I'm on a small place and until I finish fencing, I can't move them to new pens so I keep pens as clean as possible, feed good medicated pellets & stay on a strict coccidia prevention program. Better safe than sorry, IMO.
