I love my Saanen

Anyone who says that Saanens just don't have enough butterfat is crazy. I skimmed some of my Saanen's milk and made butter tonight! Delicious!

When I picked up my Lamancha boy I spent time with the breeder's Saanens (she has both and really likes the Lamancha x Saanen crosses too).......insanely sweet, not the least bit pushy and her Sr. doe would gently rest her head on your shoulder and just sit there. Super sweet goats and I was really impressed with them..

Argh! Stop it, I really want a Saanen and I can neither afford to buy another goat right now, nor find one for sale in my area anyway. I wannaa Saaaaannnnneeeennnn!!!!!

My new doeling is 1/4 Saanen, I guess she'll have to do for now. Pure white with the cutest airplane ears! If photobucket ever stops being outrageously slow, I will post pics!

Another Sannen advocate here. I think their milk is simply fantastic too. My herd queen will rest her head on mine sometimes and even lick my face (kind of gross and cute at the same time). My FF will also lick my face since I helped her deliver her doeling. Although I am a HUGE fan of LaMachas too. I have both and can't pick which breed I like best. Our soon to be herd sire is a LaMacha buckling, so I guess you can say I am a LaSannen fan
