breeding mini nubian doe with boer buck

Hi,

My friend is buying one of my boer bucks and wants to know if she would be able to breed a mini nubian doe with him. I told her that she might have trouble with the baby being to big. she says that the doe weighs about 60lb.

thanks!
Karen

If it were MY mini Nubian doe, I sure as heck would not breed her to a Boer buck! I truly don't think it's a good idea at all.

Absolutely NOT. Death of the doe and kids would be the most likely result.

I fourth it, I would not do it. A Nigie size goat will have average size 4 lb twins, a Boer has 8 lb average size twins. So a tiny goat trying to push out huge kids is asking for trouble.
She either needs to bred her to a mini Nubian buck or a Nigie buck.

I fifth it! I would definately not beed a mini nubian or any mini breed to a full size boer buck. She could easily loose the kids & the doe like that.

Another "No Way" here. Why does she want to do this type of breeding? Because the boer is available to her?

I have a very large Saanen and I've been thinking of breeding her to a boer, but I'm still a bit aprehensive about that breeding....can't imagine a boer buck / mini doe breeding going well at all.

4 lb. average? I've never had a 4 lb ND kid at birth. Mine run between 1.8 and 3.5 lbs.
My Boers ran between 8 and 12 lbs.
I would not use a Boer buck on a Mini-Nubian.

NO WAY! Just having a Boer buck mount such a small doe, the weight could damage her hips.
