The crazy places goats end up
This is Mary. She is one of my packgoat breeders. Apparently she hasn't learned that you "WALK" on 2x4's and not get stuck on one!
I had gone out to tape weigh everyone, she was being all lovey dovey, but as soon as I reached into my pocket and pulled out the tape, she sprung forward and jumped "into the wall" (the other side of the stall), and ended up between the plywood siding and the metal roofing that was hungover to stop rain from blowing in.
After I figured out she was not hurt I found it pretty humerous!

I was inside holding her rear leg so it wouldn't get cut up. My hubby lifted the front end, I lifted the hind end being careful that her legs didn't get stuck on something and broken.

LOL They are such funny little critters. I haven't had mine as long as most of you, but last month when I went out to feed them I kept hearing one of them hollering. The only one missing was our buck, Marshmellow. I looked all over the place and couldn't find him, finally, for some reason, I thought to look upstairs. He had gotten out of his stall and managed to climb up the stairs, then couldn't figure out how to get down. I couldn't coax him to walk down, DH had to carry him.

I have a packgoat named Merry! That photo is absolutely hilarious after one finds out the goat was fine! You can tell she's not hurting by her facial expression. If there's a way to get stuck, a goat will find it. We have a slight pinch spot- small opening area- between two levels of a climbing structure. Of all the goats we've had, only two have ever stuck their head in and gotten stuck and it was a Saanen both times. They could have unstuck if they'd just slide their head to the side a few inches, but they just stood and waited to be set free... I asked my husband to modify the opening (he did) to prevent an accidental hanging. I had nightmares of a goat getting stuck and other goats ramming it...etc. Never happened: but I always fear the worst possible outcomes! Hubby sez I over think...and don't trust the animals judgement. Sorta true, but then you see photo's like "Mary" and you remember "we are talking about curious goats: eternally silly, zany crittters.
