Boer Eye Help!

Boer Eye Help! - GoatsHello, I have a 9 week old Boer kid that has some weird eye things happening!
The wether is not thriving because the first freshener doe is not very good at feeding. I started supplementing him, but of course he was already on the low side. His eyes started swelling, and weeping.

I thought it might be pink eye or a cold and gave 7 doses of Vetrimycin 200 (Oxytetracycline). The swelling and goop went away, but now the hair is falling out around the eye. I have a picture, but am having a hard time loading.

I am hoping someone might know what is going on. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Upload pic to Photobucket.com first, then copy the IMG line to here.

Are you sure his eyelid isn't folding under on the edge?

What minerals do you provide for your goats?

Thank you Alice I got it without a problem!

I do the Purina Loose Goat Minerals. I have also given a block, but it is gone in about 30 hours!

I don't think the eye lid is the problem, but I will go double check. Let know what you think.

Thank you!

Hello Friend! I didn't notice when I was at your house but...does he act like it bothers him?

I have some stuff called GSE--Grapefruit Seed Extract that might help. It wouldn't be good to get in the eye, but it should kill whatever is causing that.

I'm *guessing* some kind of skin fungus, but that's a wild guess.

Edited to add:
I did some digging on something I remembered, and it *could* be a cobalt deficiency, too.
