New Alpines are home! It's my birthday!

So, my DH is a SMART man. He, like many primates, exhibits learning behavior and we have been together long enough that he KNOWS what I like...

Christmas? Buy her goats.
Anniversary? Buy her goats.
Birthday? Buy her goats.

To heck with a bunch of diamonds and Hallmark; say it with goats!

SO! The new babies....two wethers to do carting and packing:

This one I think will be named Ash.

This one, I think will be named Alder since he is the same coloring as the Alder we sold:

This is my little doeling. Her registered name is Swede Farm Princess Luling. I don't know what her barn name is going to be yet. Suggestions? She is very prissy; a "carry me!" goat.

She is younger than the boys by 2 weeks or so.

This is the last of my goat buying for a while, unless some *amazing* deal comes up on a registered Alpine doe or doeling... but I will no longer be looking for goats this year.

I want to say that LeeAnne and Katarina at Swede Farms were terrific! Their goats look healthy, "well conditioned", and friendly. The farm smelled like a CLEAN farm, hay and straw. LeeAnne and her family were helpful, sweet and honest, and I couldn't have asked for a better conversation. Even the children were knowledgeable!

If anyone is in the market for Alpine, Lamanchas, Mini-Manchas or Nubians somewhere near Hempstead, Texas, I very much recommend Swede Farms.

Already said it in an email but I'll say it again...

Awwwwwwwww!

I'm so happy for you and your new babies are precious!

Alder is colored very similar to Sam....just thicker black trim

Very sweet and what a great birthday gift!

But . . . are you sure Ash is an Alpine? Looks like a Saanen to me! :happy0035:

He is a white Alpine. His sire is the same. You cannot show a white Alpine (color is a show disqualification) but you can register one. ~chuckles~

I think he is going to be SO pretty in front of a cart!

His sire (as well as the doeling's sire) is "Soldier Mountain Jarvis Dixie Gent", and he is also pure white.

Alice, it has been decided....the doeling is Lulu!

Alder IS way cool. So cool that I have asked LeeAnne if he is able to be registered, and, if so, how much I would owe her if I kept him as a registered buck instead of wethering him next week.

But about that mare and doe........

The more time I spend with my Alpines, the more I appreciate their attitudes. I would love to throw some Soldier Mountain genetics into our herd.
