mystery goat injury

One of my goats is limping severely. He won't put any pressure on one hoof. I've cleaned and trimmed it. Examined it thoroughly with a light. Dipped it in iodine. Poked it and handled it and handled all his joints without him flinching. I can't see or feel anything. What am I missing? Help.

If you can't find anything outwardly wrong then I would guess a muscle pulled..maybe in the shoulder? How does he act...eating normal?

He's eating. I'll check the shoulder tonight and watch and wait. Any other thoughts?

Make him talk! lol!! Don't you wish they could sometimes? Drives me crazy trying to figure out what is wrong when it's not obvious. If you are sure that the foot itself is ok, not trimmed to short or an abcess or something...and he normal in every other way then I would just keep a close eye on it. You could use banamine for pain and inflamation and see if that helps.

Maybe he foundered. Trim him & look for the hoof being flooded with blood.

If everything looks good & he's acting normal every other way I'm guessing a pulled muscle like Minelson suggested. Does he have pen mates & maybe they have been rough housing around a bit?

i'm thinking pulled muscle too. he is a pretty rough and tumble little guy. he seems a little better, or at least no worse. i've been really worried about him. The boys have gotten as attached to him as i am too. Thanks
