Update on C-section doe

I had thought she had not yet passed the placenta so I took her back to the vet. Sandy (the vet) found that Lacey (the doe) did indeed have a perforated uterus. We discussed our options, and because I didn't want Lacey to be in any pain I was considering euthenasia, but Sandy took time to speak at length with me about her options and possible prognosis. Lacey did not have a fever, or a foul smell to her, so Idecided to have Sandy do the sugery that would possibly save her life. Sandy ended up spaying Lacey. Upon examination of the uterus, she discovered that Iwas wrong, and Lacey did indeed exspell her placental tissue. She is home now, settled into her stall again. She has a 50/50 chance.

Poor lacey! We had a doe with a c section last year and also had her spayed. She did great, no problems and is fat and sassy down at the barn today.

She'll kinda be like a female version of a wether! I think that's kinda cool, a nice female pet goat with no racing hormones every month!
