Goat dreams

We are officially on kid watch!

Four girls due the 25th, 27th, 2nd and 12th. My first kidding so I am a bit anxious but also way excited! The birthing kit is in the barn, the lighting is set up, the girls are getting checked on round the clock by my wonderful family, and I am having goat dreams.

After a late night rechecking my supplies last night I dreamt that one of the does just started cranking out those babies rapid fire; four, Five, SIX… AAAAhhhhhh!!! What do I do with them all! Oddly, when I got them dried off and into the house they magically turned into giant kittens. Weird, I know. I didn’t think I would go crazy this soon, we barely started!

On the bright side, I called waddle today and the girls all tested CAE free!

W00T! Congrats on negative tests! Woo-hoo!

On the goat dreams, don't feel bad. I found myself staggering towards the barn at 2 a.m. one night because I dreamed one of my girls was in labor and giving birth to rhinoceroses....and I needed to get out there and save her from her own rhinoceros kids.

I don't know where that dream came from, but I blame it on kidding season stress and lack of a due date.

I'm right there with you. I had a dream that I was trying to make goat mozzarella but kept finding goat poo around my kitchen. It really grossed me out, and I scrubbed down my kitchen the next morning. Tomorrow is day 150 for our Saanen, and she had a bit of goo tonight but still has her ligs. I'll be glad for kidding to be done, but more excited for my Alpine's congested udder to clear up.

I've made plenty of trips back & forth to our barn in the middle of the night over the years, were all right there with You C. Marie.

Don't forget the Camera is a very important part of the birthing kit too!

I dreamed monkeys were living under another building near the goat pen, and that one of them grabbed a buckling by the throat and was dragging him down into a tunnel underground.
